"Convexity acts as an airlock between our world and the Dark Realms beyond."

Convexity is the final level in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. The environment consists of an endless iridiscent void, with groups of floating platforms to jump from one to the other. A strange, mysterious and slightly creepy voice can be heard in this level calling Spyro's name repeatedly as he gets closer to confronting Cynder. This voice might have been that of Malefor, the Dark Master, as the altar that contained his essence was nearby when the level took place.

The Legend of Spyro: A New BeginningEdit

After gathering all four of the needed crystals, Cynder finally completed her task in resurrecting Malefor. But before the gate to Convexity opened, Spyro came to stop Cynder and battled her in a final showdown. After hearing the voice of Ignitus echo in his head, Spyro gained the energy to perform a powerful fury attack, which incapacitated Cynder and freed her from Malefor's control. Cynder returned to her true form, that of a small dragon the same size as Spyro. The portal to Malefor's prison began to open, pulling everything towards it, but Spyro refused to leave Cynder behind. In the end, Spyro and Sparx escaped from Convexity with the unconscious Cynder.

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal NightEdit

Convexity appeared again at the beginning of The Eternal Night, in the form of a nightmare when Spyro defeated Cynder at the altar. After Spyro saved Cynder from the portal's implosion, he could hear Malefor's voice calling his name. In the same scene, Malefor's essence entered the Well of Souls, from which Malefor later escaped off-screen at the end of the game.
